It’s the moment the industry has been waiting for: entry for the Wave Awards 2019 is now open.

Celebrating the very best of the UK cruise industry, the Wave Awards, known as the Oscars of cruising, recognise and reward excellence and innovation in a business that is continuously evolving to deliver an exceptional experience, both on board and ashore.

Launched in 2015 by Real Response Media – the company behind the market-leading brands World of Cruising and Cruise Trade News – these awards are firmly established as the premier accolades in the industry.

They are open to cruise lines, travel agents, tourist boards, ports and anyone involved in the UK cruise industry, whether they are based in the UK or abroad.

The judging panel is made up of industry leaders, travel experts and representatives from the media, while there is also a special ‘Favourites’ category, voted for by the public.

This year, new categories include the Best Environmental Initiative, a topic that has generated much interest in recent months.

In addition, the cruise agent category was so popular last year that it has been expanded to include Best Retail Agent, Best Non-Retail Agent, Best Online Agent and Best Agent Consortia or Home-working Agency.

That means there is a category that covers the traditional High Street agent, with the personal touch, and multiple platform and online agents who have kept pace with technology or use their collective power to get the best deals for customers and grow the sector.

Finalists will be invited to a prestigious black-tie event and gala dinner at London’s De Vere Grand Connaught Rooms on 7 March 2019, where the Wave Awards ceremony will be held.
