Hurtigruten has launched a new rewards scheme for UK-based travel agents after it saw B2B sales increase by 107 per cent year to date
This initiative, which is available to use from Wednesday (October 16), comes as the Norwegian coastal operator reports robust trade growth, especially during the recent summer months.
Hurtigruten said the support from its trade partners is “vital” to its overall success and helping them reach new customers and build further awareness in the UK market.
James Howlett, head of sales at Hurtigruten, said the new initiative reflects the company’s commitment to building “strong, lasting” relationships between it and UK travel agents.
“Their support has been a key driver of our success, and we want to ensure they feel valued and appreciated. We’re confident this initiative will enhance our collaboration and lead to even greater success,” he added.
The new programme sees individual bookings translated into points, which can be redeemed as a monetary voucher or saved up for larger purchases. The voucher offers the flexibility to shop both online and in-store at over 200 brands.
Iain Powell, VP sales and marketing at Hurtigruten, said: “Travel agents have played a critical role in promoting our unique Norwegian coastal experiences, particularly our fantastic Signature offering aboard MS Trollfjord, and we are committed to recognising their invaluable contributions.”
New Hurtigruten platform ‘meaningful and simple’
He added: “This new rewards scheme is a meaningful and simple way to give back to our partners, providing them with additional incentives to continue supporting Hurtigruten.”
Agents who sign up on the platform before 23:59 on 31 October 2024 will unlock an exclusive bonus of 100 points credited to their account. Every 10 points equals £1 towards a monetary voucher.
The new scheme comes after the line commenced a tour of the UK visiting travel agents amid an increase in demand for its Norwegian coastal cruise product.
