Hurtigruten has commenced a tour of the UK visiting travel agents amid an increase in demand for its Norwegian coastal cruise product
Beginning in Ipswich, followed by Chichester, the line’s sales team will also host a number of evening events for agents at Cineworld cinemas in Cheltenham and Ashton-Under-Lyne throughout September.
During the events agents can learn more about Norway, the best way to experience the Northern Lights and Midnight Sun and ask the Hurtigruten team any questions on how to sell the destination and brand.
James Howlett, head of UK sales for Hurtigruten, said: “We are experiencing high demand in the UK for sailings to Norway, which is testament to the relationships we’ve built with our trade agent partners and their commitment to us.
“Norway is a must-visit destination, and our roadshow provides the opportunity to speak to these agents to explain all the country has to offer and why Hurtigruten is the perfect option for their customers.”
He said the support the line has received from the UK travel agent community continues to grow, and “we look forward to hosting future roadshows across other parts of the UK and beyond”.
All agents who attend the events will be entered into a prize draw to win a 12-day cruise for two to experience Norway first-hand.
Hurtigruten tour comes following trade-focussed appointments
It comes after the line appointed Prini Patel as its new head of marketing UK & EMEA in a bid to enhance its brand awareness amongst the UK trade.
Patel, who has more than 20 years of experience in the travel industry, will be responsible for managing the UK and EMEA marketing team to build brand awareness and increase demand.
