Swan Hellenic has posted its strongest operational month on record following a spike in demand for polar expeditions driven by returning customers
Revenue for the expedition cruise line in July surged 170 per cent year-on-year and total growth year-to-date reached 268 per cent, with early indicators signifying a continuation of this momentum into August.
The company’s polar portfolio drove two-thirds of the total growth, with Arctic revenue tripling year-on-year and guest volumes more than doubling (+125 per cent).
The line’s new Asia-Pacific itineraries achieved 373 per cent year-on-year growth and its latest Africa itineraries hit 98 per cent annual growth. Swan Hellenic’s upcoming Antarctica season is pacing 32 per cent ahead of last year’s performance.
Repeat guest share has more than doubled in the past two years, with the majority taking three or more expeditions so far.
“Our team is very proud of these exceptional results,” said Swan Hellenic chief commercial officer Mario Bounas. “They’re a ringing endorsement of the outstanding discovery experiences Swan Hellenic provides.
“From our high-end ships to the gourmet cuisine, service and off-the-beaten path itineraries and expeditions our dedicated staff, expedition teams and onboard experts deliver.
“At the same time, we wouldn’t be where we are today without the support of our wonderfully enthusiastic and insightful trade partners. We’d like to thank them all.”
