Cunard’s award-winning entertainment will be brought to life at the Wave Awards 2024 as the luxury cruise line partners with two incredibly talented performers to showcase the brand’s refined approach to entertainment at sea.

The line has partnered with internationally renowned violinist Lizzie Ball, who has played with the likes of Paul McCartney and Hugh Jackman, and Tosh Wanogho-Maud, a rising star in musical theatre who wowed audiences in the multi-award-winning West End show The Drifters Girl.

Cruise Trade News caught up with Tosh to find out what we can expect from his performance on the night.

Hi, Tosh! What’s your favourite thing about performing for a cruise audience?

Cruise audiences feel so intimate and that’s such a joy for me being so used to playing to theatres like the Dominion or Theatre Royal Drury Lane in the West End.

How would you describe your act to someone who hasn’t seen it before?

My act is leading man meets Motown, reflecting the work that I have done originating iconic roles in shows such as The Drifters Girl and Ain’t Too Proud.

What sets Cunard’s entertainment offering apart from other cruise lines?

Cunard is dedicated to offering a truly curated lineup. It often looks for talent that represents the best the industry has to offer and stays ahead of trends.

What does it mean to be one of the performers for such an historic travel brand?

I love my time with Cunard. Being part of the family of such an iconic ship is genuinely an honour.

What does a normal day look like for you onboard a Cunard cruise?

Gym, breakfast and rehearsals, rehearsals, rehearsals… usually in that order. And then once I’ve performed, I like to get myself a book and a Negroni and chill.
