Star Clippers has announced it achieved record-breaking sales for the first booking week in January.
The specialist tall-ship cruise line, which has been trading for more than 30 years, is represented in the UK by Fred Olsen Travel.
It stated that there was a trend of more passengers booking the entire package element, rather than just the cruise-only section.
Star Clippers operates in Central America, the Caribbean and the Mediterranean, and has three vessels in the fleet, Star Flyer, Star Clipper and Royal Clipper.
‘Uncertainty’ diminishing, says Star Clippers
Star Clippers UK GSA general manager Fay McCormack said: “We are all delighted with this news, and can feel the uncertainty and upheaval of the last few years fading further behind us.
“With more and more people seeking bucket-list experiences, we are seeing both returning passengers and new guests alike looking for the experiential, once-in-a-lifetime travel opportunities that our tall ships offer.
“We are also seeing more trends and booking patterns develop to help us understand how the rest of the year may project.
“Consumer confidence is growing again, and while our three ships are consistently operating their planned cruises in Central America, the Caribbean and the Mediterranean, as well as ocean crossings, knowing that their holidays are protected is vital in this current climate.”
Elsewhere in the industry, Barrhead Travel recorded a record-breaking sales day on 7 January, which the agency attributed to demand from Sunshine Saturday.
