An agent has secured £33,000 worth of Star Clippers bookings just two weeks after returning from a fam trip
Lisa Holdroff, assistant manager at Newell’s Travel’s Falmouth branch, booked seven passengers on several Star Clippers sailings following her own four-night Star Clippers cruise from Malaga to Nice.
She hailed the value of fam trips, saying once she returned, she introduced multiple new clients to the brand, as well some previous customers she thought would enjoy it.
“I still get emotional showing clients my videos of us sailing out of Malaga as the sails were being hoisted,” she said.
“When I arrived back in the office I wanted to share my experience, so I wrote an article for Falmouth Life magazine, put details in our window and wrote a blog for the Newell’s website. I also rang clients to tell them how great it was and that they needed to do it too.
“I’m sure clients recognise genuine enthusiasm – this isn’t cruising in the traditional sense and that’s exactly why I loved it so much. Leave the sequins, formal nights and giant theatre shows behind; instead, fall in love with star-filled skies, the sound of sails catching the wind and the feeling of being aboard your own private yacht.”
Star Clippers is offering reduced-rate sailings for agents to take their own holidays and has departures available in July and August.
The line recently appointed Luke Swarbrook as regional sales manager for the north.
