Seabourn Venture, the first purpose-built expedition ship for Seabourn, has made its maiden call in the UK.
The ship arrived at Tilbury port on 10 May, in preparation for a series of trade events this month.
Today (11 May), Venture will host travel agent partners and media for a dinner and overnight stay on board.
Ship visits for agents will also take place in Dublin on 16 May and in Leith on 24 May.
UK market ‘very important’ for Seabourn
Seabourn president Natalya Leahy said: “The UK is a very important market for Seabourn and we are honoured to be a brand of choice for vacation for many extraordinary guests from this region.
“Venture is a state-of-the-art ship that combines Seabourn’s luxury elegance and style with full expedition capabilities.
“The ship will give our guests the ultimate Seabourn Moments in the most beautiful and hard to reach destinations of our planet. We can’t wait to showcase her to our UK advisor partners and guests.”
On 12 May, Venture will set sail on a 12-day Lands of the Celts voyage, followed by an 11-day cruise to the Orkney and Shetland Islands, from Leith to Reykjavik.
From there, the ship will begin its second season in the Arctic with a series of 14 and 15-day itinerariees to Greenland and Iceland.
In August, the ship will embark on the line’s first voyage through the Northwest Passage with a 23-day adventure from Kangerlussuaq, Greenland to Nome, Alaska.
The cruise line recently marked a construction milestone for its second purpose-built expedition vessel, Seabourn Pursuit, with a traditional coin ceremony at the T. Mariotti shipyard in Genova.
