Royal Caribbean will host 400 new-to-brand travel agents from across the EMEA region for an immersive four-night training programme on Oasis of the Seas in May

The latest edition of Seminar at Sea, which is now in its second year, will sail from Barcelona to Rome from 5-9 May, with the immersive training programme giving delegates the chance to learn more about the Royal Caribbean brand.

A programme of customised training sessions delivered in six languages will include a variety of interactive learning opportunities, from roleplaying to quizzes, to give agents in-depth insight into the Royal Caribbean offering.

This year’s Seminar at Sea will mark Oasis of the Seas’ European debut, with attendees invited to sample the ship’s flagship features over the course of the event, which includes an onboard waterpark, Spotlight Karaoke bar and a Broadway-style performance of Cats.

“Gaining first-hand experience is an incredible sales tool”

Ben Bouldin, vice president of Europe, the Middle East and Africa at Royal Caribbean International, said: “It’s been fantastic to see so many new faces join the travel industry since last year’s Seminar at Sea, and we want to continue to give agents a chance to dive into the memorable holidays we’re known for.

“Gaining first-hand experience and insight into the value of a holiday that truly has something for everyone and any occasion is an incredible sales tool, and coupling this with the in-depth education they’ll receive on board, the Seminar at Sea will set them up for success in crafting the best holidays for their clients.”

Seminar at Sea is one of a line-up of agent-focused initiatives that Royal Caribbean will be rolling out in 2024 and beyond, which includes further training events, Café Royal digital drop-in sessions and competitions which will be available throughout the year via the line’s rewards and learning platform.

Last month, Royal Caribbean Group revealed it had experienced the five best wave booking weeks in its history, with sales “significantly higher” than during the same period last year.
