Riviera Travel has announced it will introduce a new ocean cruise ship next year.
The 190-guest World Voyager, which joins Seaventure in the Riviera Travel ocean fleet, will offer three itineraries: France, Spain and Portugal; the British Isles; and Morocco, Madeira & the Canary Islands cruises.
The France, Spain and Portugal sailing, departing on 19 September, will include stops at Guernsey, Belle Île and Spain’s Basque country, as well as stops in Portugal.
The British Isles cruise will set sail from Portsmouth on 9 September and head for Scotland and Ireland, while the Morocco, Madeira and Canary Islands cruise will take place during the spring.
World Voyager features an on-board fitness suite, sauna, spa and pool terrace. Prices start from £2,999 for an 11-day cruise.
Seaventure is scheduled to depart in July for a series of domestic cruises and the line revealed that only two cabins are left on the ship’s four Scottish sailings.
Riviera Travel head of strategy & innovation Will Sarson said: “With cruise enthusiasts counting down to the time they can step on board a ship, we’re excited to offer this great variety, and have something to suit all tastes and budgets.
“Whether you’re looking to stay closer to home and discover more of what’s on our doorsteps in the UK, or explore a wealth of culture and traditions in mainland Europe, now is the perfect time to look forward to your 2022 getaway.”
Sarson added on a media briefing call that “ocean cruising is a natural evolution for the business, but we are doing it in the Riviera way”.
He said: “We now want to kick on to the next level. We know what our customers like – the size of the ship is important – so our ocean ships are roughly same size as our river ships.”
Riviera is also offering a Royal Clipper sailing on a 14-day Mediterranean Odyssey itinerary, departing on 10 June 2022.
The 222-passenger ship will sail from Rome and stop in Sorrento and Pompeii, Capri, Taormina, Corfu, Kotor and Dubrovnik, before concluding its voyage in Venice.
