Riviera Travel has hailed agent performance in the first half of 2026 as it reports a “record-breaking” year
Year-to-date results show 27 per cent growth in UK trade sales compared to last year, as well as a 33 per cent growth in revenue.
River cruise has lead the way with UK trade sales up 33 per cent year on year, and revenue up 35 per cent. Meanwhile, touring sales were up 10 per cent and revenue up 19 per cent, Riviera reported, saying the results show “sustained demand across both river cruises and escorted touring, as well as fantastic engagement and commitment from the travel trade”.
The tour operator praised trade performance, saying agents had “exceeded expectations” and delivered booking numbers ahead of target.
Riviera added demand for late 2026 departures remain strong across the portfolio, driven by sustained customer interest in upcoming travel and strong engagement from the trade.
Amanda Docherty, head of trade UK and Ireland, said: “These results are a true reflection of the strength of our partnerships across the trade and we’re incredibly grateful for the ongoing support from our agent community.
“Seeing such strong growth across both passenger numbers and revenue is hugely encouraging and highlights the confidence agents have in Riviera Travel and our product portfolio.
“Our partners have fully embraced everything we’ve introduced – from enhanced tools to commercial initiatives – and their passion and expertise have been instrumental in driving this success.”
She added: “We remain committed to investing in our trade relationships and ensuring agents have the support, tools and opportunities they need to maximise every sale as we move into the second half of the year.”
