Riviera Travel has enhanced its range of solo cabins across a selection of 2026 departures in response to heightened demand for individual sailings
It comes ahead of the launch of the line’s first dedicated solo-only ship, MS George Eliot, in 2027, as well as a 41 per cent year-on-year increase in solo passengers.
George Eliot will sail a full season of solo-exclusive departures, increasing capacity for independent travellers with two new 15-day itineraries – the longest solo river cruises ever offered. Itineraries include a 15-day Budapest to the Black Sea cruise from £5,699pp.
Will Sarson, product director at Riviera Travel, said: “Solo travel continues to grow, and Riviera is proud to be the UK’s leading choice for solo travellers, with departures for solo cabins consistently in high demand.
“By releasing additional availability across some of our most popular itineraries, we’re opening even more opportunities for solo travellers to experience Riviera, without compromising on quality.”
Itineraries with specially priced solo cabins include the 16 September 2026 Cruise the Heart of Europe: Journey along the Rhine, Main and Danube cruise; the 30 September Cologne, the Rhine Gorge & Medieval Germany departure; and the 10 August The Blue Danube cruise.
Vicky Billing, director of trade and partnerships UK & Ireland, added: “From a trade perspective, this is about making solo travel easier to sell. With upfront pricing built into their advertised price, agents can clearly demonstrate value to customers from the outset, without added complexity at the booking stage.”
