Riviera Travel confirms name of newest ship in fleet

Riviera Rhapsody

Riviera Rhapsody has been confirmed as the name of Riviera Travel’s newest vessel in its Radiance class

Scheduled to enter service in spring 2028, Riviera Rhapsody will depart on its maiden voyage on 1 April, a seven-night Bruges, Medieval Flanders, Amsterdam and The Dutch Bulbfield itinerary.

The ship will then move over to the Rhine for its inaugural season of sailings. Bookings will open for the ship later this year.

Riviera Rhapsody will join Riviera Radiance, Riviera Resplendence (set to join the fleet in July this year) and Riviera Reflection as a sister ship in the line’s newest class, Radiance, sharing the same design.

Riviera Travel said ‘rhapsody’ means “an enthusiastic expression of feeling”, and was chosen as the ship’s name to “reflect the way guests experience Riviera’s cruises on Europe’s great rivers”.

Will Sarson, product director at Riviera Travel, said: “The continued expansion of our fleet reflects our long-term commitment to investing in modern ships, purpose-built for Riviera.

Riviera Rhapsody will offer guests the same blend of comfort and style, allowing them to enjoy the very best of Europe’s beautiful rivers.”

Beyond Riviera’s Radiance class, MS George Eliot is scheduled to enter service in June 2027 as the first-ever solo-exclusive ship, while Riviera Alba is also due to join the fleet in 2027 and will sail on the Mekong.
