Ex-Saga Travel CEO Robin Shaw is to assist the Riviera Travel team following the departure of the line’s chief commercial officer.

Jim Forward, who joined the company in 2018, is leaving to become chief executive of Hoburne Group, a holiday and property development firm.

Shaw, also formerly of Royal Caribbean, will provide business and commercial support.

Riviera Travel chief executive Phil Hullah said: “I want to pay tribute to Jim. In his three years with Riviera, he has made a major contribution developing a highly focused and effective marketing and commercial approach.

“He has excellent business acumen and was a fine colleague. I am sure that both he and Hoburne will thrive.

“Riviera’s management team remains focused on preparing for the resumption of international travel. Our passion is for curating and delivering exceptional, award-winning holiday experiences.

“I am confident that we can capitalise on the pent-up demand for travel and meet the commercial challenges of re-building the business. In doing so we will provide a sustainable, successful and growing future for our business partners and our people.”

Forward added: “I am sorry to be leaving Riviera. Moving on to Hoburne Group will provide me with a new and different challenge, but I very much enjoyed my time at Riviera. The business has a very bright future and I learned a great deal working with Phil and the team.”
