Asian river cruise specialist Pandaw will add a new ship and itinerary to the Kerala Backwaters, India in October 2025 as a response to growing demand in the region

The ten-cabin Kochi Pandaw will be the line’s fourth ship in India, with the vessel specially designed to sail the lagoons and canals of the Kerala Backwaters which lie parallel to the Arabian Sea.

The ship will feature Pandaw’s signature wrap-around promenade decks and will sail a weekly seven-night round trip itinerary from Kochi, visiting the main towns and remote regions of the 900km waterway.

The packaged itineraries are available through Fred Holidays, Pandaw’s GSA in the UK, with weekly departures throughout September, October and November 2025 and January, February and March 2026.

Prices start from 4,999 per person and include return flights from London (regional flights will be available on request), overseas airport transfers, a night in a five-star hotel in Kochi and the seven-night cruise with all meals, excursions and activities plus a complimentary drinks package.

The backwaters of Kerala span some of Asia’s most popular river cruise destinations, including the serene canals of Alappuzha, coined the ‘Venice of the East’, and Nattakam, famous for its historic 19th-century lighthouse and spectacular views over the Arabian Sea.

Guests will also be able to sail the Pampa River and visit the ancestral home of revered saint and social reformer, Kuriakose Elias Chavara, and gain insights into his life and into Kerala’s Christian heritage.
