Luxury river cruise line AmaWaterways has unveiled its newest ship, AmaSintra, which will sail on Portugal’s Douro River from March to December annually
The new vessel can carry up to 102 guests across 55 staterooms, most of which include outside balconies and floor-to-ceiling windows.
A seven-night itinerary will comprise visits to vineyards, offering regional wine tastings along the way, as well as visits to Porto, Régua and Salamanca in northwest Spain, with an optional three-night pre-cruise land stay in Lisbon.
Prices start from £2,927 per person (including £250pp saving) for the seven-night Enticing Douro cruise sailing round trip from Porto on 12 December 2025 in a category E stateroom.
Kristin Karst, co-founder and chief brand ambassador of AmaWaterways, said: “We are thrilled to introduce another beautiful ship to the Douro River, providing our guests with even more opportunities to explore this enchanting region.
“Portugal continues to grow in popularity as a river cruising destination. With departures running through late December, travellers looking to discover this remarkable part of the world will easily find a home onboard AmaSintra.”
AmaWaterways made headlines this month when it became the first cruise line in more than 60 years to sail on Colombia’s Magdalena River, following the launch of AmaMagdalena.
