Seabourn has appointed Cunard North America boss Josh Leibowitz as its new president.
The move, which is effectively immediately, will see Leibowitz cover all aspects of the ultra-luxury brand’s operations, including revenue management, deployment and itinerary planning, hotel operations, and sales and marketing.
Leibowitz, who will report to Stein Kruse, Group CEO of Holland America Group and Carnival UK, succeeds Richard Meadows, who retired at the end of May after 35 years with Carnival Corporation.
“We are delighted to welcome Josh into this new role on our senior leadership team, where he will bring extensive experience and knowledge that will further strengthen Seabourn’s position in the market,” said Kruse.
“I am confident that Josh will help carry Seabourn through the challenges currently facing the travel industry to build on its longstanding reputation, supported by a team of people whose everyday focus is on delivering the best.”
Leibowitz added: “I’m excited to join the community of loyal Seabourn guests, our passionate crew and the travel advisors who all come together to deliver extraordinary Seabourn experiences.
“Our main priority will be working together as we develop plans to resume operations and welcome our past and future guests on board to create more lasting travel memories.”
Leibowitz joined Carnival Corporation in 2013 as chief strategy officer and was also named senior vice-president, Cunard North America in December 2016.
Prior to joining Carnival he served as managing partner of the Miami office of the consulting firm McKinsey & Co.
Seabourn is currently offering agents up to five per cent bonus commission when they take an allocation of five or more suites on one or more summer 2021 sailings before 31 July 2020.
The incentive is an extension of the cruise line’s Partnership Appreciation Event, launched in March, to offer agents and their clients extra benefits. The offer can be combined with many of Seabourn’s current campaigns, including the four per cent bonus commission offer for agents.
