A surge in cruise bookings has helped Travel Counsellors surpass £1 billion in sales for the first time

This record achievement, the homeworking firm said, cements the company’s ongoing growth amid the rising demand for holidays booked through agents, and comprised of £735 million in leisure sales and a further £265 million generated from corporate SME clients over the rolling 12-month period.

A significant portion of these sales – £364 million – was attributed to tailored TC packages, with TC Journeys, one of the latest feature’s built into the company’s tech platform, now offering 215 itineraries across 66 countries.

The most popular leisure destinations during this period included the Mediterranean, USA, Southeast Asia, the Indian Ocean and cruise holidays – which performed well for the brand earlier this year – while for corporate clients the USA remained the top of the list.

In the last year, 297 new business owners have joined the company, bringing the total number to 2,121 at the end of August. Notably, 171 of those achieved their best-ever sales performance in the past 12 months.

Steve Byrne, chief executive of Travel Counsellors, said: “We are absolutely delighted to have reached this £1 billion sales milestone for the first time, made possible by the dedication, passion, and care of our entire Travel Counsellors community.

In celebration of this milestone, several events will take place throughout the week, culminating with a special live edition of the company’s TCTV show, where several TCs will join the audience as they mark their Anniversary Day with the business.
