The Celebrity Edge has so many fabulous features it’s hard to pick a favourite, says Jo Rzymowska, vice president and managing director, UK & Ireland and Asia, Celebrity Cruises.

This ship is going to make you gasp!

Celebrity Edge is currently under construction and will launch at the end of 2018. It’s a truly revolutionary ship with some real game-changing features, from the astounding Magic Carpet moving platform to entertainment concept Eden and stateroom technology.

We’ve got a world-class designer on board and I am incredibly excited about the amazing staterooms and suites that have been designed by Kelly Hoppen. The transformative spaces include more suites than ever before as well as larger-than-ever, outward-facing staterooms. More than 900 staterooms will feature unique Infinite Balconies which allow guests to be more connected than ever with the ocean. As an extension of the stunning suite design, Kelly has also created The Retreat, an ultra-exclusive utopia reserved for Suite Class guests. The spacious outdoor lounge area includes a private swimming pool and shaded cabanas. And finally, there’s Luminae, an exclusive restaurant which really highlights Kelly’s award-winning design.

My favourite element of Edge is the Magic Carpet, another ground-breaking feature that I’m really looking forward to experiencing. It’s a mind-blowing multifunctional platform which will move between decks and transform depending on where it is. So it’ll be a speciality restaurant, ‘Dinner on the Edge’, when aligned with Deck 16, an extension to the main pool area when on Deck 14, the ultimate al fresco restaurant extension on Deck 5, and a luxury embarkation station when on Deck 2.

Eden is a paradise on our new ship. Another one of my stand-out new venues on board Celebrity Edge is Eden. Guests can indulge whichever mood takes them, whether that’s playful, sinful or just ready to chill out. It’s a relaxing oasis of calm in the morning, and changes into a space in which to be inspired and entertained in the afternoon. Then in the evening, the space transforms into an indulgent sensory paradise of food and music.

Staterooms are truly state of the art. There’s so much fun new technology on board and I can’t wait to play with the stateroom automation tech, which means guests can control everything from the lighting and temperature to how they’d like to be woken in the morning.
