Training body City & Guilds has renewed CLIA UK & Ireland’s accreditation for its travel agent training for the fifth consecutive year.
The cruise industry body had to undergo a series of assessments and demonstrate its commitment to training.
CLIA’s Oceans of Opportunity programme includes 30 modules covering the onboard and destination experience, cruise sales techniques and sub-sectors, including river cruise.
The programme allows agents to reach accredited status – the first tier of the CLIA learning programme, which includes additional modules of destinations, sector updates and more specialist courses.
Andy Harmer, CLIA UK & Ireland director, said: “We have worked hard to achieve our City & Guilds accreditation and I am delighted we are entering our sixth year of retaining this important hallmark.
“Being aligned with City & Guilds provides assurances to agents that they will receive a high-quality training programme, which is specifically designed to support and develop them as individuals, and backed by City & Guilds’ rigorous benchmarking systems.”
