TUI is to launch its own three-ship river cruise brand in 2020.

The company, called TUI River Cruises, will offer a range of adult-only itineraries and excursions, such as active tours, sightseeing and bike tours.

TUI UK & I cruise managing director Chris Hackney said the move will enable TUI to “offer our customers even more variety when it comes to choosing the perfect holiday”.

There will be a handful of private balcony suites on the line’s ships, while tips and service charges will be included in the cruise fare.

In addition, TUI River Cruises will give guests £120 credit to put towards any shore excursion bookings, allowing each guest to tailor their holiday.

TUI UK & I cruise managing director Chris Hackney said: “We’re incredibly excited to be moving into the river cruise market, as we’re always looking for new opportunities to offer our customers even more variety when it comes to choosing the perfect holiday.

“Our river cruises will really take this to the next level as customers are able to personalise their package, whether that’s board type, cabins, excursions and even cocktail choice.

“We’re very proud to be known for the friendliest service, exciting itineraries and great value for money when it comes to our ocean cruises and we look forward to bringing this to TUI River Cruises.”
