The Cruise Challenge kicks off 2025 season in Liverpool
The Cruise Challenge began its 2025 season on Thursday (13 March) with an evening of fun-filled training at the Hilton Hotel in Liverpool
Nearly 60 travel agent attendees joined the event which blends insightful updates from leading cruise lines with an interactive gameshow.
Delegates heard from Fred. Olsen’s Mathew Foxcroft, Tauck’s Tom Dumbrell, Celebrity Cruises’ Leon Hand, Virgin Voyages’ Layla Davies and Havila Voyages’ Matthew Valentine.
Agents also enjoyed drinks, dinner and networking as well as the famed Cruise Challenge Gameshow, where attendees are split into three teams and take it in turns to answer questions based off of the information they gathered from the presentations.
Delegates had the chance to win a range of prizes, including Bose sound cancelling headphones, and were also entered into a draw to win a complimentary Fred. Olsen cruise later this year.
Dumbrell said: “The Liverpool Cruise Challenge was proof that these events are going from strength to strength. The room was packed, and the agents arrived in great numbers, full of energy and excited to learn.”
Holly Ruecroft, owner of Travel With Holly, said she was “privileged” to attend the event, which offered “valuable insights” from various cruise companies.
“The interactive format kept things engaging, and the game show added a fun twist with amazing prizes from the cruise companies,” she added.
Travel Counsellor Juli Hodson, who was also in attendance, said: “Having attended the Liverpool Cruise Challenge last night, I would absolutely recommend you get to one of their fabulous evenings, from start to finish the event was well organised.
“The speakers we had made the evening both informative on the products and also fun, the Cruise Challenge quiz was the one of the best games I have played having to use the knowledge we were given to get us around the board game, the host was just brilliant.
