AmaWaterways has announced that UK managing director Stuart Perl has left following four years in the role.
The moves comes as the river cruise line restructures its management team. Sales, marketing and digital director Jamie Loizou will now head the UK sales and marketing team, working alongside the newly-appointed international sales director, Marnie Tarsinos.
AmaWaterways president and co-founder Rudi Schreiner said: “Stuart has built an incredible team at our office in the UK. Kristin (Karst), Gary and I are incredibly appreciative of his efforts and wish him best of luck as he moves on to pursue other endeavours.
“The travel agency community in the UK and North America has played a critical role in the success that AmaWaterways has achieved over the past 18 years.
“As we transition into our next stage of growth, we are excited about the opportunity that exists, and look forward to continue building strong partnerships and developing new trade relationships within this key market.”
Perl – former marketing director for Cunard and MD for Peter Deilmann River & Ocean Cruises – said: “It has been an enormously rewarding experience over the last four years to build an outstanding UK team that has significantly grown the sales and brand awareness of AmaWaterways through our trade partners.
“I am sure that from such strong foundations, the company will go from strength to strength and I wish them every success for the future.”
AmaWaterways launched the double-width AmaMagna in 2019 and recently unveiled plans for a new ship on the Nile.
The line also doubled the size of its UK sales team last year with the appointment of Rachel Simon as business development manager for the South West & Central England.
The team was recently boosted by the arrival of Maria Ersmarker as business development manager for the South East & Channel Islands.
