Silversea brings in new BDM to support agent partnerships

Silversea Cruises has appointed Megan Saunders as business development manager.

Saunders joins Lucy Howe, also one of the line’s business development managers, tasked with identifying new agents and providing trade support.

The luxury line said its UK sales team is “significantly growing”, demonstrating its overall “ongoing commitment to the trade”.

Saunders has several years of experience in the luxury cruise sector, with prior roles including trade partnerships at CLIA, five years at The Cruise Portfolio and more recently as business development manager for Windstar Cruises.

Silversea focusing on trade partners

Silversea UK & Ireland managing director Peter Shanks said: “We are pleased to welcome Megan Saunders as business development manager.

“This appointment will reinforce our UK team and highlights our commitment to supporting our trade partners in accomplishing their objectives successfully.

“Our travel partners are important key players here at Silversea, with their expertise remaining crucial for our guests.

“Megan’s experience in the cruise industry, combined with her knowledge of the luxury sector, will contribute immensely to our growth objectives.”

On her new role, Saunders said: “With four new ships and two more to come, I am thrilled to be joining at such an exciting time to attract even more discerning guests to Silversea’s luxury cruise offering.”

In early August, Silversea also welcomed Roberto Verdino as senior vice-president of revenue management, as well as Bob Simpson as vice-president of expedition product development.
