Seabourn opens sales on first purpose-built expedition ship

Expedition ship Seabourn Venture has moved to Genoa for final outfitting

Seabourn has opened sales for the inaugural season of its new expedition cruise ship.

Seabourn Venture – which is scheduled to launch in June 2021 – will sail to destinations in the Arctic and Antarctica, the Amazon, Caribbean, and Central and South America, among others, between July 2021 and April 2022.

Itineraries range from seven to 22 days, taking in more than 150 destinations in total. Select voyages can be combined to create sailings of up to 30 days.

Seabourn president Richard Meadows said: “We have thoughtfully and carefully designed these expedition itineraries not just as places to visit, but to provide the best authentic destination experiences in some of the most interesting and hard-to-reach locations in the world.

Seabourn Venture’s amazing and immersive voyages will deliver the ultimate ultra-luxury expedition travel experience, on board and on shore, that our guests will cherish forever.”

Seabourn Venture will kick off its maiden season in Northern Europe and the Arctic – including a 10-day pre-inaugural Highlights of the English Channel cruise, departing 5 July 2021, from Lisbon – before moving south in October 2021, stopping at various ports in Bermuda, the Caribbean, Panama Canal, Columbia, Ecuador, Peru and Chile.

From November 2021, the ship will cruise in Antarctica on nine voyages spanning 11 to 22 days. Between March and April 2022, Seabourn Venture will sail a series of five seven- to 12-day expedition voyages in the Amazon, before returning to Europe at the end of April for a 12-day Western European Waterways cruise.

Seabourn Venture will be joined by a second yet-to-be-named sister ship in May 2022. Both will carry a number of kayaks and 24 Zodiacs.

Itineraries, prices and additional details of Seabourn Venture’s inaugural year are available at www.seabourn.com.
