Seabourn has announced that its second purpose-built expedition vessel, Seabourn Pursuit, will operate a series of seven new pre-inaugural sailings.
Starting in mid-August, the ship will sail on five voyages through the Mediterranean and the French and Italian Rivieras.
For example, on 12 August, the ship will depart on the Tyrrhenian Isles and France itinerary, visiting the likes of Taormina, Lipari, and Amalfi, Italy.
It will also operate a seven-day Charm of Italy, France and Spain cruise and a seven-day Gems of Iberia voyage, among others.
Following the Med voyages, the ship will offer two voyages across the Atlantic and through the Caribbean.
The first will be the 12-day Atlantic Autumn itinerary, at the end of September, followed by the 10-day Atlantic Sunrises cruise.
In October, Seabourn Pursuit will arrive in Barbados, from where it will operate its previously scheduled expedition itineraries to South America, the Amazon and Antarctica.
Seabourn offering ‘the very best destinations’
Seabourn president Josh Leibowitz said: “We are excited to offer our guests the chance to sail on our new ship, Seabourn Pursuit, and visit some of the very best destinations and hidden harbours along the Rivieras and Caribbean.
“Seabourn Pursuit will invite guests to enjoy small-ship cruising as only Seabourn delivers it, with an intimate atmosphere that encourages guests to make meaningful connections.”
Speaking to Cruise Trade News at the end of 2022, the line’s marketing manager Carly Perkins explained the line’s mission to attract more people to expedition cruising, stating: “Long term, expedition is about attracting those people who haven’t thought about cruise yet, who don’t think they want to go on a cruise – they want to go on an expedition and an adventure.”
