Seabourn Ovation to be named in Valletta Harbour

Seabourn Ovation will run a series of no-fly Baltic cruises from London Tilbury

In just over three weeks Seabourn Ovation’s Naming Ceremony will take place in Valletta Harbour.  On Friday 11 May, the ceremony will light up the dramatic UNESCO World Heritage site. Actress and singer Elaine Paige will serve as godmother.

Seabourn Ovation will be the fifth ship in Seabourn’s fleet of Odyssey-class ships.  The Odyssey-class ships revolutionised ultra- luxury cruising with enhanced accommodations and innovative amenities when they were introduced between 2009 and 2011.

Special emphasis will be placed on the on board enrichment programme which will feature celebrities and renowned experts from every arena of the arts, politics, and the humanities. Speakers booked for Seabourn Ovation’s maiden season include pioneer in the field of integrative medicine, Dr. Andrew Weil; Harvard law school historian, Michael Teitelbaum; gourmet and entrepreneur Armando Manni; cultural historian, Warren Fahey and award-winning NBC producer and director, Dean McFlicker.

Embarking on an 11-day inaugural voyage departing on 5 May 2018, Seabourn Ovation will sail from Venice to Barcelona along the Adriatic and Mediterranean Seas, visiting fascinating ports and cities in Croatia, Montenegro, Greece, Malta, Italy, France and Spain.

The 600-passenger ship will spend most of its maiden season cruising the waters of Northern Europe, exploring the Baltic, Scandinavia and the United Kingdom. The ship will offer a series of seven-day Baltic and Scandinavia cruises between Copenhagen andStockholm, which will include the line’s signature three-day stay in St. Petersburg, Russia. The new ship will also sail on longer 14-day voyages, visiting the majestic Norwegian fjords and British Isles.
