Cruise secrets: Ben Bouldin, Royal Caribbean, Eurovision

Ben Bouldin has been promoted to senior vice president of sales for EMEA, while Sean Treacy has become seni0r vice president of international for Royal Caribbean.

Sean Treacy is currently the vice president of Latin America and international strategy. His move will make him responsible for Royal Caribbean International’s Asia Pacific, Australia, New Zealand and Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) regions.

Bouldin, who is currently associate vice president and managing director, UK & Ireland, will now report directly into Treacy, alongside Gavin Smith, vice president and managing director, Australia and New Zealand; Angela Stephen, associate vice president and managing director, Singapore and south-east Asia, and Alberto Muñoz Quiros, associate vice president, Latin America and Caribbean.

Commenting on his new role, Treacy said: “I’m thrilled to take on this new role and continue building a platform for growth for the Royal Caribbean International brand across the markets.

“Royal Caribbean is the greatest cruise line in the world offering the best ships, entertainment and destinations and I can’t wait to work with this world-class global team to showcase our offerings to vacationers across the globe.”

These new positions are part of a wider company restructure, which has also resulted in 55 people being made redundant in the UK and Ireland.

Key departments affected include PR and marketing, and revenue management. These departments, which presently operate out of Weybridge (Royal Caribbean’s UK head office), will move to the company’s Miami HQ.

Earlier this week, it was announced that Torey Kings-Hodkin, former head of commercial partnerships at Thomas Cook, would be joining the cruise line as head of key accounts.

Kings-Hodkin will report directly to Martin MacKinnon, who is staying on as Royal Caribbean’s UK and Ireland director of sales, and manage a team of six key account managers.

Commenting on her new role, MacKinnon said that he was “thrilled” about Kings-Hodkin joining the team as she brings “a wealth of travel retail experience with her”.
