Royal Caribbean is planning to repatriate thousands more crew in the coming weeks as part of a major global repatriation plan.
At least 11 ships will be deployed and various charter flights will be organised to return crew home to their respective home countries across the globe.
According to CrewCenter, Royal Caribbean crew from the Caribbean, Central and South America will be sailed home to the Bahamas, Haiti, Dominican Republic, Colombia, Panama, Costa Rica, Honduras, Guatemala, Belize, St Kitts, Dominica, St Lucia, Grenada, Trinidad, St Vincent and the Grenadines from Saturday 9 May aboard ships Vision, Rhapsody and Adventure.
Indian crew will be transferred aboard Anthem and will sail to Goa, where they are due to arrive on 3 June.
Ukraine and Romanian crew will be transferred aboard Navigator of the Seas, which will sail to Miami where charter flights will be organised.
Indonesian and Filipino crew will sail to Barbados and Miami from where charter flights will be organised from 9 to 12 May.
European, Canadian and all other nationalities will sail to Southampton where charter flights will be organised for crew repatriation.
US crew sailing close to US ports will be repatriated with private transportation beginning 6 May.
In a statement, the cruise line said: “We have already been able to help more than 12,000 of our crew members return safely home on commercial flights, charter flights and direct sailings to their home countries and thousands more are going home in coming weeks.
“We are working with governments and health authorities around the world on our plans, and we very much appreciate our crews’ patience, understanding and good spirit.”Â
