Riviera Travel to operate Star Clipper voyage to French Riviera and Corsica

Riviera Travel tall-ship sailings

Riviera Travel has launched a one-off Star Clipper cruise for 2023 that will take in the French Riviera and Corsica.

The 10-day itinerary, which will depart on 11 August, has been introduced following “popular demand for two previously-announced clipper voyages that sail next year”, said the operator.

Star Clipper will call at Cannes, St Tropez, CalviAjaccioBonifacio, Bastia, Portoferraio, and Civitavecchia for Rome. Overnight hotel stays in Nice and Rome are also included.

The ship features 81 cabins and accommodates up to 162 guests and 74 crew. It has two salt-water swimming pools, a sun deck, restaurant, tropical outside bar, library and lounge.

Prices for the voyage start at £2,599pp, including return flights with a choice of regional airports.

‘Contemporary and traditional travel’

The two additional 2023 clipper sailings are the Aegean Odyssey cruise on the 162-guest Star Flyer, departing in May, and a Mediterranean Odyssey itinerary on the 227-guest Royal Clipper, departing in June. Both are now nearly fully sold.

Riviera Travel head of product river and ocean cruise Katja Hildebrandt said: “We’ve had a fantastic response to our previous clipper voyages and are delighted to be able to offer another special sailing.

“This luxury cruise has a wonderful itinerary that is not to be missed for anyone looking to discover more of the French Riviera and Corsica.

“It offers the ideal blend of both scenic sailing and the opportunity to explore this fascinating and spectacular region.

“The clipper is the epitome of nautical glamour, with a lavish interior, beautiful cabins and premium dining. Guests are even able to help raise the mainsail. This voyage will offer the very best in both contemporary and traditional travel.”

Riviera Travel’s 2023 ocean cruise programme also includes an eight-day Arctic & Spitsbergen sailing and a 10-day Buenos Aires & Voyage to Antarctica itinerary.
