Riviera Travel has announced that all guests must be fully vaccinated against Covid, or present a negative test, before travel.
Guests will need both doses of a Covid vaccine, with the second a minimum of seven days prior to travel.
Those who have not had both doses of the vaccine will be offered a complimentary test to allow their holiday to take place. The operator said the move follows feedback from guests.
Any guest who tests positive prior to their holiday will be able to transfer their booking to an alternative date, free of charge.
The requirements apply to all guests travelling in the same group, as well as Riviera’s river and ocean cruise crew members and tour managers.
In addition, all crew members will have additional daily temperature checks and on-going health screenings.
Riviera Travel chief commercial officer Jim Forward said: “Ensuring guests’ peace of mind is a priority for us, so we’re asking everyone who travels with Riviera to have had the full Covid vaccine or presented a negative test.
“We can’t wait to welcome holidaymakers back so will take care of any associated costs.
“These measures, combined with our comprehensive health and safety procedures, means guests can look forward to their Riviera holiday with happiness guaranteed.”
In February, Riviera recorded its best day of trade bookings for nearly a year.
It is also planning to run British Isles cruises later this year – the first time that the operator has offered Britain and Ireland-based voyages.
