Riviera Travel has bolstered its trade support team with the appointment of Ralph Uhlemann as business development manager (BDM) for Ireland, effective 30 September
Uhlemann will be tasked with building travel agent relationships and growing awareness of the Riviera brand in Ireland, reporting in to Steven Taylor, international sales manager.
Uhlemann, who has worked in the travel industry for 15 years, was most recently senior travel consultant at Best4Travel. Prior to that he was business travel consultant for TakeTwo Travel Solutions.
Stuart Milan, trading director at Riviera, said: “We are thrilled to welcome Ralph to Riviera Travel. His expertise in the industry and deep connections with the travel trade will be vital as we continue to develop what we believe is industry-leading trade support for Ireland-based travel agents.”
Uhlemann added: “I’m delighted to be joining the Riviera team. The company has made great strides in recent times in boosting trade support, and I look forward to playing my part in that as we develop long-lasting and mutually beneficial relationships.”
Riviera Travel appointment comes after new ship announcement
It comes after Riviera confirmed it will bolster its fleet with a new ship in 2026 to coincide with the line’s largest-ever river cruise programme.
The 178-guest Riviera Resplendence will be sister ship to Riviera Radiance, which launches next year, and will feature three dining venues, including a brand-new restaurant concept called Mosaic, Grand Balcony suites and a split-level lounge to provide more guest space.
This is the third new ship in Riviera’s pipeline, with the line revealing that sales for Riviera Radiance and Riviera Rose are up by 20 per cent on the rest of the fleet ahead of their launch next year.
