Ponant’s newest addition to its boutique Spirit of Ponant collection will help travel agents boost their luxury sales, says the line’s UK general manager
The launch of the nine-passenger La Désirade last month comes following the introduction of the luxury expedition line’s first catamaran, Spirit of Ponant, in Corsica last year.
The vessel debuted with series of charter-only sailings in Southern Corsica and Sardinia last month and will reposition to the Caribbean this winter.
Guests will find four double staterooms, including an owner’s stateroom with suspended terrace, an indoor lounge, two outdoor lounges, an open-plan kitchen and a rear-deck water-level platform.
Onboard water sports include stand-up paddleboarding, snorkelling, water skiing, wing foiling, an inflatable Tiwal dinghy and a Sublue underwater scooter.
UK general manager Anthony Daniels told Cruise Trade News: “We’re thrilled to expand our product selection, giving our vital trade partners access to even more exclusive small yacht experiences in incredible destinations.”
Olivier Narcy, chief EMEA sales and global customer relations officer for the Ponant Explorations Group added: “The Spirit of Ponant and La Désirade represent the very essence of Ponant Explorations voyages.
“They allow you to sail and drop anchor in places that are inaccessible to most other ships. An itinerary that can be adapted to suit all tastes, so you can travel as close to nature as possible, with all five senses alert.
“The feeling of freedom is absolute on board, as nowhere else. These ships provide intense emotions, and memories to treasure forever.”
