Cape Town, Nosy Be and Walvis Bay are just some of the remarkable destinations global cruise innovator Norwegian Cruise Line (NCL) will take guests to this winter
With a fleet of 20 ships open for sale – including the new Norwegian Viva and soon-to-launch in 2025 Norwegian Aqua – NCL has helped customers create unforgettable memories across a vast array of destinations for 57 years.
A focus for the line in the coming months is its Africa itineraries, which call at ports such as Cape Town, South Africa; Walvis Bay, Namibia; Richards Bay, South Africa; Nosy Be, Madagascar; and La Digue, Seychelles, on sailings with Norwegian Sky and Norwegian Dawn.
On Norwegian Sky, guests will discover a more intimate and traditional cruising experience. From onboard pools to the award-winning Mandara Spa, it’s the perfect spot for travellers to relax and rejuvenate after a day of shoreside enrichment.
There’s also a variety of speciality and complimentary dining options onboard, from Italian at La Cucina or French at Le Bistro. And with so many bars and lounges, including the Pinnacle Lounge & Sushi Bar or Sugarcane Mojito Bar, they’ll be hard pressed to go hungry.
Meanwhile, the mid-sized Norwegian Dawn offers a similar relaxed atmosphere paired with dining options such as Los Lobos Cantina, a sophisticated Mexican restaurant celebrating traditional flavours with a modern twist.
Guests can also visit The Cellars, a Michael Mondavi Family Wine Bar for a wine tasting, or take a spin in the ship’s expansive casino.
In Cape Town, guests can hop on a rotating cable car to the peak of the imposing Table Mountain to take in the breathtaking views of the rolling hills below. After, they can head to The Hussar Grill for a juicy bone marrow rib eye steak with a side of fresh sauteed green beans.
In Walvis Bay, they’ll witness flocks of flamingos, pelicans and Damara terns skimming the tidal lagoon towards the east of the bay, where coastal sand dunes like Dune 7 mark the start of the Namib Desert.
For fans of relaxation, Richards Bay is the perfect stop. Here, travellers can take a load off on the beach or partake in a range of water sports.
NCL to offer savings of up to 35%
In Madagascar’s Nosy Be, meanwhile, the Lokobe Reserve shelters chameleons, geckos and frogs, while the capital, known as Hell-Ville, features French colonial buildings and a covered market, perfect for shopaholics.
