More than 1,000 agents have collectively raised £15,000 for charity after they walked more than 92,000 miles as part of Norwegian Cruise Line’s (NCL) Walk for Wellness challenge
The initiative, now in its third year, encourages the UK travel agent community to lace up their trainers and step away from their desks to improve mental health and physical fitness, with NCL donating money for each milestone reached.
Agents could swap stories, spur each other on, and interact with images taken on their walks with NCL’s Wellbeing+ app. The money raised will be split between ABTA Lifeline and ITTA Benevolent Fund.
Natasha Muller from Arrivia Europe Ltd, said: “Huge congratulations to everyone for their motivation and encouragement. I’ve reaped the benefits from this challenge which is now part of my everyday lifestyle.”
Laura Connolly, from the Travel Village Group, said: “I loved my gentle, evening walks, well done everyone, and all for two incredible charities that provides much needed financial help to our friends and colleagues in the industry.”
Gary Anslow, vice president and head of business UK and Ireland, NCL, added: “We started the initiative in 2024 with three goals: get everyone moving, encourage conversations around mental health in the travel industry, and raise money for two charities who positively impact our community.
“We’re delighted to have seen Walk for Wellness evolve year on year, and together we’ve actively contributed to better conversations around mental health in the travel industry. Huge congratulations to everyone who has taken part.”
