MSC Cruises appoints new regional sales manager

MSC Cruises has announced the appointment of Vickie Towey as regional sales manager for the northwest region.

Towey – who has more than 20 years of experience in the travel sector, most recently as travel manager at the Holiday Emporium – will start her new job on 20 February.

Karen Spencer, currently senior regional sales manager for MSC, will now assume responsibility for the northeast region.

The cruise line said it will continue to add to its trade support team with more appointments expected in the coming weeks.

MSC Cruises boosting trade support

MSC Cruises director of sales Steve Williams said: “We are thrilled Vickie is joining MSC. She has extensive travel experience and so much passion for our business.

“She not only sells MSC Cruises in her current role, but she is also a big advocate for our cruise line and holidays on our ships on a regular basis.

“This is the first of two new hires dedicated to strengthening and supporting our trade partners to support them with our brand and ultimately grow their business with the world’s fastest growing cruise line.

“We will now start recruitment for a training executive to support our training team, which is critical in growing and developing our brand awareness across our expanding trade distribution channels.”

Towey said: “I am very much looking forward to joining the team at MSC Cruises and building on the amazing work that Karen has done over the last 10 years in the northwest.

“I am excited to continue to grow sales and develop product awareness as more and more guests look to MSC Cruises as their holiday of choice.”

Earlier this month (January), MSC launched a new global brand campaign to showcase how sustainability “is at the beating heart of its daily activities and long-term growth strategy”.
