Marella Cruises has marked its strongest financial performance in 30 years, with overall demand for the wider TUI Group spiking in 2025
According to TUI’s financial results for this year, travel continues to be in high demand with 34.7 million guests (+5 per cent) booked with the company across the 2025 financial year.
Revenue for the firm has risen to €24.2 billion, with TUI reporting the best adjusted earnings before interest and taxes (EBIT) in its history with €1.46 billion
The TUI cruise companies – Hapag-Lloyd Cruises, TUI Cruises and Marella – saw adjusted EBIT rise by €108 million to €482 million thanks to consistently high capacity utilisation, more passenger days and higher daily rates.
The company said growth in this area is being driven by investments in new builds for TUI Cruises, the strong market environment, and growth forecasts, particularly in Europe. With the launch of Mein Schiff Relax in March, the fleet size increased to a total of 18 ships.
Chris Hackney, CEO of Marella Cruises, said: “Marella Cruises has delivered a record-breaking year in 2025. We achieved an EBITA of €167 million, up €26 million year-on-year, marking the strongest financial performance in our 30 years.
“Beyond our financial performance, we’re proud to have set new benchmarks in customer experience, with record customer satisfaction scores, and our highest ever retention levels with our customers returning time and time again.”
He continued: “These achievements also highlight our unique product offering with our all inclusive proposition, end-to-end service with regional flying, West End style entertainment and exceptional service from our crew. As an award-winning ocean cruise line brand, I want to thank our incredible teams and loyal customers for making this milestone possible.”
Sebastian Ebel, CEO of TUI Group, said the company wants to grow globally with its own differentiated products and thus become independent of the “challenging” European market environment.
“All segments will become even more profitable and efficient in the future,” he said. “Booking flights, transfers, hotels, cruises or excursions: only TUI offers a travel experience from a single source – this underlines our unique position in the global tourism market.”
