SeaDream Yacht Club has announced that Jos Dewing will lead the line’s UK sales operation.
Dewing, formerly managing director at Voyages to Antiquity, will be based in London and will focus on developing relationships with trade partners. He will report to SeaDream vice-president of sales Jannicke Rognstad.
“We are excited to implement Jos’ ideas to our UK strategy,” said Rognstad. “Jos has demonstrated tactical and strategic business leadership throughout his extensive career and a deep understanding of the luxury travel sector. We are certain he will be a valuable addition to the SeaDream team.”
Dewing also previously held board level roles as managing director of luxury cruise specialist The Cruise Line and as owner of specialist cruise technology and marketing company CruiseTech.
“I developed my passion and knowledge for the SeaDream product during my work at The Cruise Line,” said Dewing.
“SeaDream sets the industry standard for luxury at sea, and I look forward to working closely with the travel trade to develop and maximise sales opportunities for the important UK market, which has seen significant growth over the past five years.”
Voyages to Antiquity ceased trading last year, following its decision to charter its only ship, Aegean Odyssey. The ship then suffered engine problems, forcing VTA to cancel 10 cruises.
At the time, Dewing said: “Since the announcement [of chartering the ship] was made, the executive management at Voyages to Antiquity has been looking at various alternative options to continue the company and serve our loyal clients.
“However, this process was severely impacted by the unforeseeable engine failure that occurred, forcing the company to cancel most of our remaining 2019 summer cruises.”
