Let’s face it: the ten-year anniversary of the Wave Awards was never going to be a quiet affair.

Last Monday’s ceremony saw entertainment, provided by Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines and Cunard, take the roof off of The Dorchester, before comedian and TV personality Sue Perkins dished out a slew of gongs to the best cruise lines and travel agents operating in the sector today.

Ruth Gardiner, senior manager, Royal Caribbean International, said she was “absolutely blown away” after the line won the coveted Grand Prix Award for picking up Best for Accessibility, Best for Accommodation Design, Best Family Cruise Line.

Robbie O’Grady, co-founder, The Cruise Room, meanwhile, said: “It’s our first Wave Awards so we’ve set the bar high. The venue is amazing, the food is great and the entertainment is outstanding.” You can read the reaction from this year’s winners here.
