Explora Journeys has teased information on its newest ship – Explora III – which is due to set sail in summer 2026
Explora III will course through Western Europe from Southampton when it embarks on its inaugural sailing, calling into Netherlands and France, before heading north to Iceland and Greenland. It will then reposition to the Caribbean for the winter 2026/27 season.
The ship will be the most spacious in the Explora Journeys fleet, offering 18.7 sqm of public space per guest, one of the highest ratios in the industry.
A total of 463 ocean suites, penthouses and residences mean the ship will have more staterooms than its two predecessors.
Among them are the Ocean Penthouses, which now account for 24 per cent of the suite inventory, and the Ocean Residences, which have increased to 9 per cent of the total inventory. Explora III will also include an additional Owner’s Residence on Deck 7.
In total, Explora III will feature 313 Ocean Suites, 109 Ocean Penthouses, 39 Ocean Residences, and 2 Owner’s Residences.
Meanwhile, the line’s signature dining concepts, such as Fil Rouge, Anthology and Med Yacht Club, will return alongside with new concepts. Guests will indulge in a wide variety of gourmet dining options.
Explora to offer “greater variety of itineraries” with new ship
Anna Nash, president, Explora Journeys said: “With Explora III, we are thrilled to reach the halfway point in the launch of our fleet of six luxury ships, each designed to redefine the standards of ocean travel.
“This milestone represents more than just growth; it underscores our dedication to offering guests unparalleled access to some of the world’s most breathtaking destinations.
“By expanding our fleet, we are able to offer a greater variety of itineraries, immersing travellers in diverse cultures, landscapes, and unique moments across the globe.”
Explora III will set sail from Southampton on 17 August 2026 and will visit Netherlands, Norway, Estonia, Sweden, and Germany, before making its way to Iceland and Greenland.
Along the way, guests have the chance to explora off-the-beaten-path ports such as Rønne in Denmark, Nanortalik and Paamiut in Greenland and Seyðisfjörður in Iceland.
The ship will then arrive in Quebec City, Canada in September, before continuing its journey down the US’ east coast, eventually arriving in Miami on 25 October 2026 ahead of its winter Caribbean season.
