Cunard will host two additional trade ship visits on Queen Mary 2 to coincide with its return to Liverpool next week
The vessel will arrive in the city on 6 September, which will be the first time Cunard has returned to Liverpool since the naming ceremony of Queen Anne in June, before departing for Cork in Ireland on 7 September.
The ship’s voyage to Liverpool started in New York on Friday (23 August), where it commenced its 400th crossing of the Atlantic, ahead of its arrival in its homeport of Southampton on Friday (30 August).
To mark the occasion, Cunard’s flagship will host two ship visits for travel agents in the region, on 6 and 7 September, from 3.45pm to 9.30pm, and 9.45am to 2.30pm, respectively. Up to 30 spaces are available on each.
The visit on 6 September will focus on the line’s entertainment offering and feature a Champagne afternoon tea in the Champagne Bar, a tour of the ship and the opportunity to see an early evening performance in the Royal Court Theatre.
Agents on the 7 September visit will also have a tour of the ship, followed by a three-course lunch in the Britannia restaurant and then free time to explore. Agents secured their places via the Shine Rewards platform, Cunard’s agent loyalty programme.
Tom Mahoney, director of UK sales at Cunard, said: “We can’t wait to welcome our travel agent partners on board Queen Mary 2 in Liverpool, our spiritual home.”
Cunard to host ship visits in Greenock and Southampton
He continued: “First-hand experience is the most effective way for the trade to immerse themselves in everything we do, allowing them to broaden their product knowledge and build their confidence when selling Cunard. It’s also a privilege to be returning to Liverpool – a city that Cunard shares a unique 184-year association with.”
Cunard’s wider 2024 ship visit programme also includes events in Greenock and Southampton, with opportunities for agents to experience new ship Queen Anne, and Queen Victoria, as well as Queen Mary 2.
