Crystal has announced plans to accelerate travel agent commission payments as it looks to reinforce its commitment to the UK trade
Under the new policy, which comes into effect immediately, once a standard booking for a cruise under 40 nights is paid in full within the 100 per cent penalty period, agents will receive their commission from 50 days prior to departure.
Those who secure standard bookings for cruises over 40 nights will have their commission paid from 90 days prior to departure and 20% Explorer Fare bookings will see commission paid within 30 days of receiving final payment.
“Travel advisors are at the heart of our success, and we recognise the importance of providing them with the financial support they deserve – faster,” said Matias Lira, senior vice president of trade sales Americas, UK & EMEA for Crystal.
“By accelerating commission payments, we’re reinforcing our commitment to our partners and ensuring they can focus on what they do best: crafting unforgettable journeys for their clients.”
The enhanced policy will be applied retroactively to all existing, qualifying standard bookings that have been paid in full within the 100 per cent penalty period.
Advisors can expect payments to be processed within the next 30 days for standard bookings and in the coming months for applicable Explorer Fare bookings.
The new scheme comes after the line finalised an order with Italian shipbuilder Fincantieri for the construction of a third ocean ship.
For more information, travel agents are encouraged to contact their Crystal representative or visit the line’s Travel Advisor portal.
