The 2020 CLIA Conference will take place on 26, 27 and 28 April in Southampton, it has been revealed.
The three-day event includes ship visits, a trade fair and a day of business sessions, featuring speakers from across the cruise industry as well as keynote talks from people outside the sector, followed by a gala dinner.
Last year’s speakers included Azamara’s Larry Pimentel, Celebrity Cruises’ Lisa Lutoff-Perlo, CLIA’s new president Kelly Craighead, and Virgin Voyages’ Tom McAlpin, as well as entertainment from Cunard and Norwegian Cruise Line, the Princess Cruises ‘Voice of the Ocean’ live final, and special guest Sir Richard Branson.
Delegates attending the 2020 event will have the chance to visit two ships in port – P&O Cruises’ Britannia and MSC Cruises’ MSC Meraviglia. The conference is open to CLIA travel agent members and registration opens on 11 September via www.cruiseexperts.org.
CLIA UK & Ireland director Andy Harmer said: “Our 14th annual CLIA Conference will once again bring together the entire cruise community and promises the usual mix of engaging and informative conference content, our now famous networking trade fair, our legendary gala dinner and evening entertainment, multiple ship visits on some of the newest ships that attract UK and Irish holidaymakers, and of course the usual surprises that allows the whole event to continue to exceed the expectations of our travel agent partners.
“With so many cruise lines and sponsors joining the event, and with targeted content across the three days, this is the must-attend event of 2020 for those serious about growing their cruise sales, with information and inspiration for those new to cruise, those who are experts in cruise, and everything in between.”
CLIA is currently preparing for its annual river cruise event in Amsterdam, running from 10-11 November 2019, and has also unveiled plans for its first conference dedicated to Irish travel agents, taking place on 20 November 2019.
