CLIA and Ambassador Cruise Line have come together to host their first-ever onboard event for the trade, a special one-night sailing from Newcastle to Tilbury
The sailing will depart Newcastle on 22 November before heading south to Tilbury. While onboard, agents will be able to attend an exclusive trends and insight session, hosted by renowned sales expert Debbee Dale and CLIA’s trade membership and events manager Adele Fitzpatrick-Foster.
The session will include advice on how agents can maximise demand before, during and after the upcoming wave period.
Delegates will also receive an overnight oceanview cabin, lunch on arrival, a five-course evening meal and breakfast on departure day, with Ambassador offering a post-cruise coach from Tilbury to Newcastle.
The overnight event will be the first in a series of joint initiatives between the cruise line and the industry body, which will be announced in the near future. Last month Ambassador became the latest brand to join CLIA as it seeks to enhance its brand awareness across the UK cruise industry.
CLIA “can’t wait” to welcome trade onboard
Andy Harmer, managing director, CLIA UK & Ireland, said: “We’re thrilled to partner with Ambassador for the first time on this special sailing.
“We’re offering agents a host of practical learning opportunities, as well as the chance to experience one of Ambassador’s ships first-hand including their fantastic dining and entertainment. We can’t wait to welcome the trade onboard.”
Nicola Harper, head of distribution for Ambassador Cruise Line, added: “We’re delighted to be hosting CLIA member travel agents onboard Ambition in November to enjoy the ‘warmest welcome at sea’ and combine this with some valuable training ahead of the wave season.
“We know there is nothing like seeing and experiencing a product first-hand, and the team is really looking forward to showcasing our brilliant, affordable-quality offering during this one-night sailing.”
