Ambassador appoints Lynsey Jones to newly-created role

Ambassador Cruise Line, Lynsey Jones

Ambassador Cruise Line has appointed Lynsey Jones to the newly-created role of strategic account manager

It comes after Jones joined the line in a four-month interim position before the birth of her child last year. She will return from maternity leave and join the line’s trade team from 24 August 2026.

Jones, who has 19 years of experience in the travel industry, was previously head of sales and brand for Balkan Holidays until the company ceased operating in the UK.

In her new role with Ambassador, Jones will offer senior management support to Nicola Harper, head of distribution, and Karen Cameron, deputy head of trade, whilst working to help agents with new products and driving revenue for the business.

Cameron said: “Lynsey’s considerable knowledge of the travel sector, coupled with her industry experience, make her a perfect fit for the trade team, and we’re so pleased to welcome her back.

“We know her contribution will prove invaluable once again as we continue to meet the needs and expectations of our guests, whether that be via our incredible range of no-fly itineraries departing ports across the UK or those choosing to fly to the Caribbean to enjoy themselves on board Renaissance this winter.”

The end of August will also see the promotion of Debbie Ballantyne from business development executive to business development manager – north.

With 20 years of experience, Ballantyne joined Ambassador in 2024 from Barrhead Travel, where she was a branch manager. Having succeeded in previous sales positions at Iglu Cruise and cruise.co.uk, Debbie will now serve as BDM of the north, in which she will manage accounts alongside her current duties covering Scotland and Ireland.

Ballantyne joins Laura Yates, business development manager – homeworkers and new business, and Jade Cheadle, business development manager – south, following their respective promotions in March.

Harper said: “Having displayed significant growth during her time with Ambassador, Debbie has been recognised as an individual more than capable of taking on increased commercial responsibility within our northern division.

“We’re so excited to watch Debbie continue to grow in a new position of account leadership, and we know her contribution will continue to strengthen our activity in the North, Scotland and Ireland.”

In response to increased activity out of London Tilbury Port, Ambassador Cruise Line has created a new business development executive position within its southern division. Open for applications from 29 July, the new role will allow for increased agent visits across southern regions, as the cruise line looks to expand its presence throughout the south.
