Celestyal Cruises to provide free Covid-19 cover on new bookings

Celestyal Cruises wave offers

Celestyal Cruises has announced it will offer complimentary travel insurance with Covid-19 cover for new cruise bookings.

The travel insurance will apply two all new bookings made by 30 November 2020, applicable to sailings between March and June 2021.

Known for its sailing around the Greek Islands and Eastern Mediterranean, the cruise line will offer the policy in association with Allianz Global Assistance.

The policy will include coverage of medical/hospitalisation expenses, including those associated with Covid-19, transportation costs to the nearest hospital and travel costs to the next port of call.

The policy will also include travel expenses to return home due to illness if requires, and reimbursement for any used portion of the cruise.

For an additional fee, Celestyal guests will also be able to upgrade their policy to include trip cancellation coverage.

Chief commercial officer of Celestyal Cruises, Leslie Peden, said: “We are extremely optimistic about the future of cruising and are truly excited to introduce our guests to our newest addition to the fleet, Celestyal Experience.

“We recognise that concerns surrounding the pandemic still exist and we want to help put our guests at ease when booking with us for voyages during the first half of next year.

“Thus we’re proud to be one of the first in cruising to offer complimentary Covid cover travel insurance along with very attractive all-inclusive introductory pricing to help restore their confidence in booking that dream holiday that they likely had to put on hold this past year as a result of the pandemic.”

Celestyal Cruises is due to resume operations on 6 March 2021, with a seven-night ‘Three Continents’ cruise aboard its new flagship, Celestyal Experience.

Following on from her inaugural sailing, Celestyal Experience will then sail a seven-night ‘Idyllic Aegean’ itinerary from 3 April 2021.

For a limited period of time, all-inclusive pricing on the new ship starts at £519, with a reduced deposit of just £159 per stateroom.
