Celebrity Cruises has expanded its agent training team with the appointment of Emma Rigby to the newly created role of UK and Ireland trainer.

Rigby reports to training manager Leon Hand and the now two-strong training team are part of Celebrity Cruises’ UK and Ireland expansive sales function.

She has worked for Celebrity Cruises since 2014 as part of the ship-based guest relations team, including working on-board the Southampton-based Celebrity Eclipse. Most recently Rigby supported Celebrity Cruises’ loyalty guests during their sailings on Celebrity Eclipse in the role of Captain’s Club host. Her background and training also includes a degree in Cruise Operations Management from Plymouth University.

Claire Stirrup, director of sales, Celebrity Cruises UK and Ireland said:
“We are thrilled to have Emma as part of our growing trade training team. She brings the most incredible ship knowledge and expertise, and importantly knows first-hand why our guests choose to return to Celebrity Cruises again and again. Our training programme continues to expand. With Emma and Leon working together we know that our agent partners are in for yet more fun, excitement and innovative selling support.”

The Celebrity Cruises UK and Ireland training team has expanded as the cruise line rolls out a new training programme around the latest ship scheduled to join the fleet, Celebrity Edge. The new ‘Edge-u-cation’ tools support agents in selling Celebrity Edge ahead of the ship offering its first cruise in December 2018.

The cruise line recently unveiled Celebrity Edge, featuring accommodation designed by interior designer Kelly Hoppen. The new Edge-u-cation programme includes e-learning training modules, interactive webinars and comprehensive selling guides.

Both Leon Hand and Emma Rigby are also hosting ship visits and running interactive training events on-board Celebrity Silhouette during summer 2017, ahead of the ship being based in Southampton in summer 2018. The training team also hosts Seminars at Sea – multi-day training and familiarisation visits on cruise sailings.
