Albatros Expeditions has joined CLIA in a bid to enhance its brand awareness across the industry via the organisation’s community of expedition lines, agents and partners
The line, which has joined with immediate effect, will benefit from access to the cruise body’s in-person and virtual events and learning programmes, as well as the opportunity to share cruise line and ship information resources online.
The line will also have the opportunity to promote agent incentives and competitions via CLIA’s e-newsletter and social media pages.
The Albatros team will make their first appearance with the group at this month’s launch of the Expedition Cruise Champion initiative, and will attend the Cruise Forum and Winter Ball on 18 December.
Andy Harmer, CLIA UK & Ireland managing director, said: “We’re delighted to welcome Albatros Expeditions to the CLIA family, further bolstering our commitment to the trade to offer information, resources and virtual and in-person training focusing on all sectors of the cruise industry.”
He continued: “Albatros joins an illustrious group of expedition cruise lines at CLIA, further expanding the product offering in this exciting growth sector. We’re very much looking forward to working closely with their team.”
Jens Rasmussen, chief operating officer from Albatros Expeditions, said: “Albatros Expeditions is excited to join CLIA, recognising the crucial role that trade engagement and travel agents play in shaping the future of the cruise industry. We look forward to collaborating and contributing to its growth and innovation.”
It comes after the line earlier this year appointed former Aurora Expeditions UK and Europe sales director Craig Upshall as its new sales director for EMEA, Australia and New Zealand.
Upshall, who departed Aurora Expeditions in April 2021 to join Qatar Tourism in a marketing and promotion role, joined the expedition line on 8 July.
