Exclusive: Albatros Expeditions appoints Craig Upshall as EMEA sales director

Albatros Expeditions Craig Upshall

Albatros Expeditions has appointed former Aurora Expeditions UK and Europe sales director Craig Upshall as its new sales director for EMEA, Australia and New Zealand

Upshall, who departed Aurora Expeditions in April 2021 to join Qatar Tourism in a marketing and promotion role, will join the expedition line on 8 July.

He has also held roles with Rocky Mountaineer as business development manager Europe, Middle East and Africa, and Cadogan Holidays as head of trade sales and marketing.

In his new role with Albatross, Upshall will oversee the sales teams based in Europe, Middle East and Africa, as well as teams in Australia and New Zealand.

Speaking to Cruise Trade News, Upshall said: “I’m thrilled to be joining Albatros and excited to lead the team in Europe, Middle East and Australia to continue to build on the great work they’ve achieved thus far, now with two fabulous X-Bow ships exploring the Polar regions and beyond.”

Upshall to oversee Albatros Expeditions’ UK sales operation

Albatros Expeditions is a Danish family-owned company which began expedition cruising in Greenland more than 30 years ago. Greenland constitutes their core product, but they now also offer expedition cruises in Antarctica, the Arctic, the Americas, and Northern Europe.

They operate two X-Bow vessels, Ocean Victory and Ocean Albatros, which the line claims have the lowest greenhouse gas emissions per guest in the industry.
