Since the beginning of December, Cruise Trade News has been running its special cruise-themed advent calendar.
This initiative, in partnership with Fred Olsen Cruise Lines, gives travel agents the chance to win some sought-after prizes, including the opportunity to cruise with Fred Olsen in 2023.
Go Cruise & Travel ocean and river cruise specialist Jane Bowen, the first winner of a seven-night voyage with the line, explains what it means to her.
How does it feel to win a cruise as part of the Cruise Trade News advent calendar?
I was amazed and excited to have won a seven-night cruise with Fred Olsen Cruise Lines.
Entering the advent calendar competition each day, I was used to the page dropping down and saying “sorry, you have not won”, but not this time.
I am hoping to take my daughter on Borealis, from our closest port of Liverpool.
What are you most excited about experiencing on board?
I am looking forward to the warm Fred Olsen family welcome and service. My first Fred Olsen cruise was in 1976, and it is heart-warming to see they have maintained the same values.
I would definitely recommend entering initiatives such as the advent calendar. If I can win, why can’t you?
How confident are you that 2023 will be a positive year for the cruise sector?
I am seeing an upward trend in cruise enquiries. Generally, I have found that those who have cruised before are keen to get back to sea.
Having lost around two years of cruising, at whatever frequency they travelled before the pandemic struck, they are keen to make up for it.
Those new to cruise are requiring a little more convincing that cruising is the best experience, but I love a challenge.
As I tell my customers, there is a cruise out there for everyone, and Cruise Trade News provides us with the knowledge that is so important to us as agents.
